Rhayader - Elan Valley
Distance 26Km : Climbing 800m
This ride starts at the Elan Valley Visitor Centre, near Rhayader. postcode LD6 5HP.
We aim to start at 10.30am, we recommend you arrive 15 minutes beforehand to have time to get ready.
The ride starts with a gentle climb along the cycle path to the Elan Valley, passing alongside the beautiful Garreg Du and Penygarreg Resevoirs. the route edges alongside the Craig Goch Resevoir for a short spell before a steep grassy climb leading onto a stretch of tracks on open hill, past a long forgotton Roman camp and onto the road. From here the route returns to Cwmdaddwr, then back along the cyclepath to the visitor centre, and a well deserved cafe visit.
The route is approximately 26 Km long, we expect it to take about 3 hours.
